Dillard scores sixth place finish in Grant Junghans Memorial

Hopping behind the wheel of his Joel’s Auto Sales No. 97 Modified, Cade Dillard visited Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kan.) on Friday afternoon for the fifth annual Grant Junghans Memorial. In a stout field of 74 United States Racing Association (USRA) Modifieds, Dillard logged a fifth place finish in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main for another shot at the $10,102-to-win A-Main. Passing four cars to finish second behind Lance Mari, Cade locked into the 19th-starting position for the show. The following night at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kan.) for the second round of the Modster Mash, Cade posted a fourth place finish in his heat, transferring him into the B-Main. Soaring to a 15-lap consolation victory over Alex Williamson, Dillard earned the 16th-starting spot for the A-Main. With $10,031 on the line, Cade improved three positions to place 13th.

For the Halloween Hangover at The Hummer on Sunday at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kan.), Dillard followed up a fourth place finish in his heat with a second place spot in his B-Main behind Lucas Lee. Starting the $5,000-to-win finale in 18th, Cade passed 10 cars in the 40-lapper to come home eighth.
