Track Championship 2 Weekends Away

There are two more nights for drivers to collect track points and try to earn a track championship. This Saturday, August 16 and next Saturday, August 23 is season championship night.
Here is a look who is mathematically still in the running for a title.
In the Napa Auto Care Centers USRA Modifieds, Zach Brom of Winona holds an 83-point advantage over fellow Winona racer Harley Dais. Parker Hales sits third 143-points back.

Brayden Gjere of Mabel sits atop of the Rochester Chevrolet Cadillac USRA Stock Cars with 668-points. Chris Hovden of Cresco, IA is in second 63-points behind. Brandon Hare of Elma, IA is a distant third 184-points back.

The Meadow Greens Golf Course USRA Hobby Stocks have New Hampton, Iowa's Luke Schluetter in first. Sitting in second is Hudson, Wisconsin driver Dustin Doughty who is 53-markers behind. Joshua Monson of Clear Lake, IA is third 68-points behind the lead duo. Nick Schwebach of Spring Valley is fourth 136-point back. Jeremy Werner of Rollingstone is fifth 184-points behind the leader.

We saved the closest point race for last. That is in the Leroy Auto Clinic USRA B-Mods. Christopher Deno of Mantorville holds a scant one-point leader over Utica’s Bill Steinberg. Hunter Kennedy of St. Ansgar, IA is third 50-point back. Dustin Kruse of Baltic, SD sits fourth 113-points behind. Lilli Reps of Utica is fifth 123-points out. It would be an extreme longshot, but sixth thru eleventh place drivers, Colton Kramer, Dennis Dunbar, Noah Grinstead, Isaac Clark, and Corbin Ludemann are all within 200-points.

Here is a look at how track points are awarded for the United States Racing Association (USRA).

Track points will be awarded to each competitor in the main event as follows: 1st - 100 points, 2nd – 95 points, 3rd - 91 points, 4th - 87 points, 5th - 84 points, 6th - 81 points, 7th - 78 points, 8th - 76 points, 9th - 74 points, 10th - 72 points, 11th - 70 points, 12th - 68 points, 13th - 66 points, 14th - 64 points,15th - 62 points, 16th - 60 points, 17th - 58 points, 18th - 56 points, 19th - 55 points, 20th - 54 points, 21st - 53 points, 22nd - 52 points, 23rd - 51 points. All other competitors that start the main event and finish below 23rd are awarded 50 points. All competitors that fail to start (take the green flag) in the main event are awarded 45 points.
