Memorial Weekend has Park Jefferson racing Saturday and Monday

Park Jefferson is the place to be this coming weekend as a pair of nights of racing will kick off summer racing presented by Pepsi.

Saturday night is the 4th annual Memorial Duels. The Nebraska 360 Sprint Cars take on the Midwest Sprint Touring Series in round 1 of a pair of sprint car events. Nebraska 360's will see perenial Park Jefferson gunners Cody Ledger and Jack Dover take on the challengers from the north as Jody Rosenboom and Lee Grosz lead the charge southward. All drivers are asked to notify the MSTS if they are racing emailing Shawn Neisteadt at neisteadt@gmail.com.

The 2nd half of the Duel sees the first IMCA Modified Fast Shafts qualifier. Paying $1,000 to win and $150 to start, the best of Siouxlands IMCA Modifieds will be on hand to see who takes the first of 3 IMCA Fastshafts Qualifying events at Park Jefferson. Joining them for their first IMCA points event are the J&J Fitting IMCA Stock Cars and the IMCA Hobby Stocks. Drivers are asked to register at https://www.myracepass.com/tracks/2303/registrations/2697.

Pit gates open at 3PM with spectator gates open at 5PM with hot laps at 6:15. Seven hundred spectator tickets are for sale. Tickets can be purchased at https://market.myracepass.com/store/tickets/?i=1205673&store=10866. Remaining tickets will be available at the ticket window.

On Monday, Park Jefferson will see the return of the United States Modified Touring Series. The USMTS makes their annual stop at Park Jefferson Speedway bringing the likes of Randy Sanders, Hunter Marriott and Terry Phillips. Joining them will be the makeup of the 3rd annual Pepsi South Dakota Sprint Car Nationals. This MSTS event will see cars from across the Dakota's in town for the $3,000 to win event. Joining them this evening are the RACESaver Sprint Cars and the sport modifieds. The sport modifieds will be run by IMCA rules but will be non sanctioned. The sport modifieds and the RACESavers are asked to register at https://www.myracepass.com/tracks/2303/registrations/2687

The pit gate will open at 2pm with the spectator entrance at 3pm. Hot laps are at 4:15 with racing slated to follow around 5:00. Tickets can be purchased at https://market.myracepass.com/store/tickets/?i=1205685&store=10866.
Remaining tickets will be sold at the door.

Social distancing guidelines will be in effect and fans are asked to observe best practices. We do request fans and teams to bring some type of face covering to help us continue to have the support of the state which allows us to race during this time.

The Hampton Inn in North Sioux City has a special Park Jefferson Speedway rate of $89 and can be booked by calling 605-232-9739. Camping can be found at the KOA of North Sioux City 1 mile south of the track and reservations can be made at 605-232-4519. Tell them Park Jefferson sent you.
