USMTS weekend wiped out in Louisiana, postponed to September

By USMTS (Shreveport, LA) -- With the expected forecast for this weekend in Louisiana that includes rain and plenty of it, officials from the USMTS and the hosting racetracks have postponed this weekend's doubleheader for about five months.

Originally scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, April 23-24, the 9th Annual Cajun Clash Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian and series debut at the The Rev (Revolution Park) in Monroe will happen Friday and Saturday, September 10-11.

However, this cloud has a silver lining as two additional tracks have jumped in to make this a four-night fandango at four tracks in three states.

On Wednesday, September 8, the Summit USMTS National Championship fueled by Casey’s will kick off the quadrupleheader at the 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas, and the following night on Thursday, September 9, the series will trek to the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, before hitting the pair of makeup races in Louisiana.

On the downside, fans will have to wait a few more weeks to inhale the glorious odors of USMTS motors. The next event on the schedule happens Friday and Saturday, May 14-15, at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, and Tri State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more information on these events and other breaking news about the #BestoftheBest in dirt modified racing.

Taking dirt to a new level: The 2021 campaign for the Summit USMTS National Championship fueled by Casey’s features 36 nights of racing with the winners of those main events set to take home over $300,000 in earnings from more than $1 million in prize money earmarked for those shows. Twenty-six of the 36 race nights will pay at least $10,000 to win while the other 10 carry a $5,000 top prize.

As if that weren’t enough, more than $230,000 is committed to the top ten finishers in the 2021 points standings with a record $70,000 reserved for the 2021 USMTS National Champion.
