Three Huge Weekends Ahead for USMTS Drivers with Possible $51,000 Sweep

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (May 18, 2026) — The Summit Racing Equipment USMTS presented by RacinDirt.com is set to enter one of the biggest stretches of the 2026 season with three major weekends over the next four weeks featuring massive payouts and some of the toughest dirt Modified competition in the country.

Drivers competing with the USMTS will have the opportunity to chase a possible $51,000 sweep beginning with a four-race Memorial Day Weekend swing through Iowa and Minnesota before the tour heads to Wisconsin for back-to-back marquee events in June.

Memorial Day Weekend alone offers drivers the chance at a $16,000 sweep with races at four different tracks in four nights. Two weeks later, the series heads to Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin, for a three-night event featuring a possible $13,000 sweep before the prestigious 28th Annual Masters at Cedar Lake Speedway pays a possible $20,000 over three nights.

The Memorial Weekend swing opens Thursday night at Fayette County Speedway with the 12th Annual War in West Union paying $3,000 to win. The event is expected to attract many of the top Modified drivers from across the Midwest and beyond.

Current points leader Tanner Mullens of Wichita, Kansas, enters the weekend with momentum after picking up multiple victories this season, including the King of America finale earlier this spring. Mullens recently moved into the top spot in the standings following another strong performance at the Red, White, and Blue Nationals in Pocola, Oklahoma.

Close behind in the championship battle is Reece Solander of Emporia, Kansas, who continues to recover from injuries sustained in a tractor accident prior to the Pocola weekend. Other top contenders include Brandon Davis, six-time series champion Rodney Sanders, and defending series champion Jim Chisholm.

Fans can also expect appearances from many regional standouts and rising stars throughout the weekend, creating one of the deepest fields of competition seen all season.

Friday night, the tour moves to Hancock County Speedway in Britt, Iowa, for the 2nd Annual Hobo 100k Nickel Nationals. Last season’s inaugural event drew 162 race teams across four divisions, including 50 Modifieds.

Saturday’s action heads north to Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota, for the 22nd Annual Southern Minnesota Challenge paying $5,000 to win. Deer Creek Speedway has hosted more USMTS races than any other facility in series history and is known for producing exciting side-by-side racing.

The four-night swing concludes Sunday evening at Mason City Motor Speedway for the Jerry Hejna Memorial. The event will feature increased payouts in several divisions, highlighted by a $3,000-to-win main event for the USMTS Modifieds.

Following Memorial Weekend, the tour resumes June 4-6 at Mississippi Thunder Speedway before heading to Cedar Lake Speedway June 11-13 for the 27th Annual Masters, one of the premier crown jewel events on the USMTS schedule.
