CP-Carrillo continues as Official Pistons & Rods of USMTS

Officials from the United States Modified Touring Series announced today that CP-Carrillo—the leader in the high-performance piston market—will once again be the Official Pistons & Rods of the USMTS in 2017.

“After our first successful year of partnering with the USMTS we knew we found a good home,” said Bryce Mulvey, Domestic Sales Manager for CP-Carrillo. “This year, as the Official Pistons and Rods of the USTMS, we are looking forward to being out at the track, talking with racers and engine builders.

“The feedback has been invaluable as we constantly look for ways to make our parts better at the highest level of competition.”

While most racing enthusiasts know that CP-Carrillo is the leader in the high performance piston market, many may not know is that CP-Carrillo is home to one of the most advanced, state-of-the-art piston and rod manufacturing facilities in the world.

Located in Irvine, Calif., their facility and capabilities are second to none in this respect, and the new Bullet Series division of CP-Carrillo is a perfect fit into an already advanced system.

CP-Carrillo introduced the Bullet Series of high-performance pistons and rods in 2015 to stay current as the industry shifts to new directions. This series of pistons and rods are the flagship for this new venture and incorporate everything that has made CP-Carrillo the industry leader.

“The people behind the parts at CP=Carrillo are real racers at heart, and one look at their line of products tells you they have an incredible commitment to quality,” said USMTS President Todd Staley. “We’re honored to continue our partnership with CP-Carrillo and look forward to seeing their customers in victory lane again.”

As part of their continuing commitment to USMTS competitors, CP-Carrillo will be awarding product certificates to all three USMTS regional champions, the Grant Junghans Memorial Rookie of the Year and 2017 USMTS national champion, as well as making a significant contribution to the regional and national points funds.

Opening weekend for the 19th season of the Best of the Best in dirt modified racing takes place Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 9-11, at the Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, followed by another Lone Star State tripleheader the following weekend at the Shady Oaks Speedway in Goliad, Feb. 16-18.

After that, the series treks into Mississippi for the first time at the Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram on Friday, Feb. 24; Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian on Saturday, Feb. 25; and Greenville Speedway on Sunday, Feb. 26.

The Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., hosts the 6th Annual Cajun Clash, March 2-4, and the five-week grind wraps up March 9-11 at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore.
