Corey Dripps finishes 7th in USMTS points

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Corey Dripps finished the 2004 United States Modified Touring Series season 7th in National Points. Corey Dripps Racing will wrap up their 2004 racing schedule this weekend in Mayette, KS.

After finishing the 2004 USMTS campaign, Corey Dripps Racing finished 7th in National Points. Considering how the season started, CDR was very pleased with the final standings. The long season started with trouble and was only able to compete in 53 of the 71 races scheduled.

"We had a rough start," remembers team owner/manager Rick Dripps. "We wrecked our Champion Chassis car at the first race of the season. We missed a few races after that when we started building our own cars."

"Motor problems plagued us the next couple of weeks," Rick Dripps went on to say. "Once we got the motor problem figured out, we started to really dial in the new Big Cock Chassis. By August, we had everything under control and finished strong in September and October."

Corey wheeled the Big Cock Chassis running up front at season's end. Corey was also able to get behind the wheel of the modified of Rob Jorgenson's GRT Chassis as the season came to an end.

"It was a good experience to drive another style of race car," driver Corey Dripps commented. "I was able to get a better grasp of the '4-Bar' car."

This weekend Corey Dripps Racing will wrap up their 2004 tour at Mayette, KS. The Thunderhill Speedway will host the 2nd annual 'Snow Bowl' featuring a $3,000 payday to the winner on Saturday night.

In 2005, Corey will split his driving duties. Corey will drive part of the season in car fielded by Jorgenson and his own car.

"Rob and I will build two new cars (Big Cock Chassis) for his team," Corey explained. "I'll also build two new cars for my own personal team. We plan to run the full USMTS 2005 schedule. We want the title." The team will also hit all the major modified specials in the Midwest.

CDR would like to extend a special thank to all that helped the team hit the road this past year.
